Do you want to sing and can match pitch? Do you believe in the empowerment of women, promoting diversity and inclusion, and the power of the universal language of music? You are perfect for Phoenix Women’s Chorus. Phoenix Women’s Chorus does not require auditions! Our singing members include all levels of musical abilities – from beginners to absolutely amazing. Everyone is welcome.

Open rehearsals are almost here!
Join us at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral most Tuesdays in August for our open rehearsals. We’ll sing, learn some music, and get to know one another.
No experience or musical ability required, just a desire for fun, community, and joining voices.

Joining PWC will allow you to:
Join a diverse chorus that welcomes all women-identifying people, queer folks, trans and nonbinary singers, and allies. Members represent a wide range of age, voice types, and musical expertise.
Build and strengthen your community of like-minded people.
Build your repertoire of choral works rooted in social justice.
Sing four, full-length concerts each year in the spring and fall. There are additional performance opportunities at events and fundraisers throughout the year.
Participate in community activities, festivals, charities, and sporting events.
Perform on national and international stages through our Gay and Lesbian Association of Choirs (GALA) membership.

We rehearse every Tuesday, 6:30-9pm at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Phoenix. We take a 4 week winter break and an 8 week summer break.
In addition to regular rehearsals, each concert preparation period usually has 3 additional mandatory rehearsals.

Phoenix Women’s Chorus is a non-auditioned choir and welcomes all 2SLGBTQIA+, allied, and gender-neutral singers who can consistently match and sustain pitch. Non-singing members are also encouraged to join.

The membership period/concert season begins in August and runs for one year. Our fall concert takes place in November and our spring concert in May. Members are asked to commit to all concert performances.

Donations for singing and non-singing members are $200 per season. New singing members also have a $25 music fee (usually only a one-time fee barring loss or damage). Alumnae and members on sabbatical are also invited to financially support the Chorus. (No one is turned away for lack of ability to pay.)
We are a 501c3 and all membership contributions are tax-deductible donations.
Members are also expected to support fundraising efforts.

In order to present ourselves as a unified group, we do have specific attire requirements for both formal and less formal performances.
Out of respect for those with allergies, chemical sensitivities, and other breathing challenges, we maintain a scent-free environment for all rehearsals and performances: no colognes, perfumes or fragrant personal products.Item description
